HEL A4 Art Print
Gorgeous A4 sized (9" x 12" // 210mm x 297mm) art print of Hella or Hel, the Queen of the Underworld.
I tried to emphasise her healing aspects in this illustration. A lot of sources only talk about Hella as a goddess of death, but to me she is so much more. As I’m currently writing the Oracle Deck Guidebook and researching a lot about different deities associated with death, I notice that these ladies always have such a bad reputation. Death is scary and we don’t want to think about it, so we shun the death goddesses away into their respective underworlds or forest huts.
In my opinion death goddesses are not only about the one final biological death we all face. Every day there are “small deaths” happening all around us, whether we notice it or not. These small deaths are called endings. The ending of things is necessary for change to occur. Every day the sun sets in order to be reborn the next morning. If we start to think about death in these circumstances, death goddesses all of the sudden become a lot more versatile to work with.
