#OurPlanetWeek Day 3: A Reflection on the Sabbats: LITHA (Harmony)

The third prompt of #OurPlanetWeek is: HARMONY and for my pagan wheel of the year reflection I’m going to concentrate on the LITHA sabbat.

In the northern hemisphere Litha is celebrated between the 20-23rd of June. This sabbat is held in preparation for the harvest to come, it’s time to honor both work and leisure. The Goddess is heavily pregnant from the mating of Beltane, nature is in full swing and abundant now.

My illustration shows the pregnant Goddess relaxing on a mild summer’s night in the abundance of nature. She portrays the promise of life and is shown in a golden dress. Rosemary, mistletoe and peonies are the corresponding flowers for this sabbat that I incorporated into this artwork. The dominant color of the illustration is blue which belongs to the corresponding Litha colors, as well as gold, green and white.
